Step 1: After click on the link, a page will open in front of you, with a green line written on it, click here and create a new account.

Step 2: After this, here you can create a new account with Email, Google Account and GitHub Account, then you like the option according to you, I will create a new account with the help of email, then I will first click on Sign Up with email.

Next, you have to enter your name, email and password here and click on the sign up button. After entering the name, email and password, you have to verify the email, an email will come to your email, it will have a link, if you click on it, your email will be verified.

Step 3: Here you have to enter a payment method, you need to do identity verification, here you have two methods:

  1. Credit/Debit Card: In this method, you can use your bank’s credit card or ATM card with a debit card, but that card must have a VISA/Master Card and inside it International transactions can occur.
  2. Paypal: If you use this method, you put $ 5 in your Digitalocean account so that Digitalocean can verify your identity.

As soon as you enter the payment method, your new digital account will open after this.

Install WordPress in DigitalOcean

Step 4: As soon as your new account opens, you will see the option of Create in the top menu, click on it, then click above the Droplets. After this, you have to click on the marketplace, after this the first option will be to select WordPress.

Step 5: Next, you have to select your server plan, if your website is completely new, I will ask you to select $10 Plan. Now, you have to select the location of your VPS (virtual private server), then here you have to select the data center of India which is in Bangalore.

Step 6:

  • Addition options: In Digitalocean you get some special features and all is free. So, here you select Private networking, IPv6 and Monitoring.
  • Authentication: You have to choose the one-time password and it will be the one-time password of your server and will come to your email.

Step 7: After this, you have to give the name of your Droplet, here you can put anything, click on the final step Create Droplet. As soon as your new Droplet is created, you will get a mail, you will have your IP and one-time password. It is very important to first connect the domain name to our new server.

Step 8: First of all, you have to change your Nameserver, you have logged into your domain registrar account and go to DNS and click on Edit Nameserver and you have to enter three Nameserver of Digitalocean.

After changing the nameservers, it takes a little time to update, so you have to wait at least 5-10 minutes, then you have to enter your domain into Digitalocean.

Step 9: After waiting 5-10 minutes, you will have to go to your Digitalocean account and click on the three dot icon in front of Droplet and click on Add a domain. Here you have to write your domain name, after that you have to add CNAME record, it is very important if you have to use your domain with WWW.

  • HOSTNAME: www
  • ALIAS: yourdomain.com
  • TTL: 43200

Step 10: Now, we will configure the server, so if you are a Windows user then you have to use Putty, with the help of it you can access your console, Putty is absolutely free, then you can download it by clicking on the link below Can.

After downloading Putty, install it in your Windows, and open it.

Step 11: When you created Droplet, you would have received a mail. Now, open it and also open Putty. Here, you have a simple IP address in the email, copy it and insert it in the hostname in the Putty and click on the Open button.

After this you will get a Security Alert, in which you have to click on the Yes button.

Step 12: Now,  your console is opened, where to write the root. One-time password found in your email, enter it here. You have to enter a one-time password twice, after which you will have to provide a new password of your server which you have to remember.

Step 13: Now, the WordPress installation is over, where you have to write your domain name, which we put in Digitalocean. Write the email you want to use on the WordPress website. Enter WordPress username. Enter a WordPress password, this password is used when you are logged into WordPress.
Put the title of your new website here.

Install free SSL in DigitalOcean

Step 14: After this, here you are asked whether you have to install free or SSL, so here you have to write Y and press inter. Here you have to enter an email so that whenever your SSL expires, you will get a mail that your SSL is running out. Next, to give consent, press A and press Inter, then after Y, press Inter.

Step 15: Now, you have to choose whether you want to keep www or not, if you want to keep the website with www, select 1, otherwise type 2 and press enter. Now it Done, now your website is ready, wordpress is also installed and SSL is also installed.

Step 16: Now you have to restart Simple Apache.

sudo service apache2 restart

Step 17: Now, you open your domain in the browser and see what happens, if your site is not open then you have to wait 10-15 minutes and you will have to open the website.

Final Step 18: To open the website’s admin panel, you need to press inter by writing wp-admin behind the URL of your website. Finally our website is ready, now you can start posting.

How to access the files in Digitalocean

Step 1: If you have to manage your website’s files in Digitalocean, you will have to use FTP software such as FileZilla.

Download FileZilla: Download Now

Step 2: To login to Filezilla:

Host: IP address
Username: root
Password: Server Password
Port: 22

Step 3: To manage the WordPress files:

Open this folder: var/www/html/

From here you can manage all the files on your site.
